KTSP Manadal's Sahebraoji Buttepatil Mahavidyalaya, Rajgurunagar begins with Science faculty from June 2018. The Department of Botany was started in the academic year 2018 with commencement of BSc course. Department of Botany provide course up to FY BSc and SY BSc class. The Department has well equipped laboratories and well qualified staff. The department is dedicated to educate the students through various curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities such as Seminar, Field Visit, Science Exhibition, Conference and Avishkar competition. Along with that Department also enable the students to understand the conservation and awareness about plants, sustainable use of natural resources and understand the principles of Environment, Life science, Health science which forms the strong foundation for the various advance study and research. The subject offered exciting opportunities in various fields from basic research to an industry- oriented.
The Two-year syllabus of B.Sc. Botany is designed by the Savitribai Phule Pune University. The syllabus includes basic as well as advanced concepts in Plant Sciences from first year and Second year of B. Sc. The syllabus is inspiring to students for perusing higher studies in Botany. It also helps them in becoming an entrepreneur and for getting employment in plant-based industries like Plant Tissue Culture Laboratories, Seed Industries, and Pharmaceutical Industries etc.
The first year B. Sc. theory syllabus includes fundamentals of Botany discussing diversity in plant groups and scope of botany in industries. The second-year students are exposed to subjects like Plant Physiology, Plant Biotechnology, Plant taxonomy and Anatomy. Our aim is to deliver a quality classroom experience enhanced with ICT and provide opportunities for research in the laboratory and field, so that they acquire the biological literacy and critical thinking skills necessary for successful career in education, research, industry and government.

Eligibility Criteria
1) Higher Secondary School Certificate (10+2) or its equivalent Examination with English and Biology; and two of the science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geography, Geology, etc.
